Public Service Broadcasting, aka PSB, is a London based band that mixes electronic music with a post-rock style, audio tracks of archival material such as newsreels, public service announcements, and documentaries to construct albums with large social and historical narratives. Their albums have dealt with moments of British history in the 20th century, the space race, state of coal mining in Wales, and the city of Berlin. Their music is a creative mixture of German school electronic music (see Kraftwerk), motorik beats, Eno & Fripp style layered guitar effects, upbeat synth pop, and some house music. They put all of this together in a way that feels both like club music and like soundtrack. Their work tends to be mostly instrumental, where most vocal parts come from found audio snippets. Any actual singing is provided by guest vocalist (except on "You + Me", vocals provided by J. Willgoose, Esq himself).
