pronoun

Pronoun (stylized in all lower case) is the stage name used by multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Alyse Vellturo. Her current work presents uptempo, guitar-heavy indie songs with a big, anthemic sound.  Her previous work, i'll show you stronger (2019) gave this inkling to some extent, but that tendency was balanced partly by her folksy upbeat songs and partly by the pull that emo and dream pop had on her. That album also had her voice mixed at consistently low levels, hiding it behind the synth and the guitar drone. It is now up front and center, loud and proud on her recent EP, OMG I MADE IT, in which Vellturo is also much more invested in a bold pop rock sound, suggesting perhaps that her music might be going through a transition that has not fully played out yet.
