Ok, Cuddle

Ok, Cuddle (used to be Uncle Pizza) is a Brooklyn based band with a free-flowing, slightly anarchic feel that plays a primal version of emo, loud and proud. They are led by singer-guitarist Nicole Harwayne, whose manic energy is matched by the rest of the band thunderously ripping through their songs like their lives depended on it. They alternate between a sparse sound with gentle tones that usually serve as the set-up before the next burst ion the loud/quiet dynamics. There is often a math-like quality to their music, adorned with frequent hardcore accents and occasional jazzy flourishes. The way they bounce between these elements unpredictably, their songs play out like a cascade of ideas interspersed with Harwayne's spoken word interludes.
