Noname

Noname is the moniker for the rapper, hip-hop artist Fatimah Warner, who is originally from Chicago but is currently based in Los Angeles. Her music builds on a kind of jazz foundation that may be slightly understated but has plenty of sophistication and sway with a classic cool nightclub vibe. Some of her songs bring in swing and Latin beats, and others add a lush layer through old school strings arrangements that sound almost mid 20th century in tone. The way she melds jazz into her hip-hop is relatively downplayed, without drawing extra attention to it. Her delivery is also low-key and reserved, as she raps with the aura of beat poetry reading in a sultry voice, not unlike Magna Carda's Megz Kelli.
