Nemegata

Nemegata is an Austin based trio of Colombian musicians who integrate a variety of Latin musical traditions, cumbia among others, with afrobeat and western psychedelic rock elements to create a distinct cross-cultural fusion. They enjoy a strong foundation in the rhythm section, with César Valencia and Fabián Rincón on bass and drums respectively. Their collective synth work and Víctor-Andrés Cruz's rich and layered guitar adds more nuanced textures to their music. The band deftly navigates between rock and Latin idioms, while Cruz sometimes branches off in the West African desert blues direction for added flavor. He also shines on the vocals, with a bright and clean voice that fits right in with their genre-crossing sound.
