Lokkhi Terra

Hailing from the melting pot that is London, Lokkhi Terra is, perhaps, the world's only Bagladeshi-Cuban-Afrobeat band. Those three elements vary in the degree to which they are stressed, often depending on accompanying performers. For instance, 2017's Introducing Baby Akhtar, recorded with Shikor Bangladesh All Stars, leans towards traditional Bangladeshi music while 2018's Cubafrobeat, which features Fela and Femi Kuti keyboardist Dele Sosimi is almost all Cuba-tinged Afrobeat. If that level of fusion isn't enough, look no further than their Bangla Rasta EP, also recorded with Shikor Bangladesh All Stars, which sees the group expand into reggae.
