Little Dragon

Little Dragon is an electronic pop band that makes dance-oriented music that overlays sketches of funk, disco, and R&B, which they play at a relaxed, mid-tempo range with chill nightclub vibes. They started out back in 2007 focused on some laid back R&B with jazzy undertones. Their most celebrated work to date, 2014's Nabuma Rubberband explored trip-hop textures where vocalist Yukimi Nagano was able to display her vocal skills as she mixed it nicely between a sonorous R&B approach and the soft and plaintive tones that recall trip-hop. They have been much closer to synth pop stylistically, more recently, adopting the same downtempo approach and keeping their synths relatively understated. Their rhythm section does a great job projecting an organic feel in their grooves that wraps the whole band like a fuzzy blanket at times.
