Larkin Poe is a southern rock band comprising the sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell. Originally from Atlanta, now based in Nashville, the duo combine old-fashioned, foot stomping traditional rock with a healthy dose of blues rock. Rebecca Lovell handles the guitar and the lead vocals, providing the front with a solid roots feel, while Megan Lovell adds the harmonies and works the slide to add the dirty blues layer to their music. Their songs are intended not as singalongs or crowd pleasers, but as well-crafted blues/rock pieces that need to be appreciated as such. One can expect a fair amount of thumping rock rhythms, bold guitars and a lot of power and intensity, plus that good old, southern touch. Their covers album, Kindred Spirits, contains some truly inspired choices of some classic songs and interesting interpretations.
