Kassi Valazza

Kassi Valazza is a folk and country artist who has been going through some shifts: She started more in the classic country mode, not too far from the Patsy Cline mold that was evident on her debut album, Dear Dead Days (2019). Over time, that rootsy twang gave way to a folk sound that is fairly '70s aware in its basic make-up with some influences of the Laurel Canyon sound at its peak in the '60s and '70s. Her 2025 album From Newman Street sees her move sideways a little, with the quality of her voice and delivery style coming ever closer to the great Sandy Denny (of Fairport Convention), which is very high praise indeed.
