Hatchie is the stage name used by singer-songwriter and guitarist Harriette Pilbeam, whose music brings dream pop elements into her otherwise mainstream contemporary pop music, which was a more prominent aspect of her work in her first album, Keepsake (2019). Her synth driven style brings to mind an artist like Sky Ferreira while the overall production seems to have a few dashes of Madonna sprinkled here and there. Her songs move are fluid and loose, and they feel natural. Her hazy vocals have a way of anchoring her music. So even when her sound gets bigger through all the swelling synths and pouncing drums, she has the ability to the bringing things back down to a relatable level.
