Goose

Goose is a jam band from Connecticut that plays a free-flowing, rock based music that shows a broad range of influences, including country and funk. In some ways, they are among the descendants of earlier bands like Grateful Dead and Phish that also kept their emphasis on melodic tunes, congenial and pleasant style, and open-ended, improvisational approach to music that usually garners them a large following. Goose adheres to the same idea, and they do this as they cover a range of musical styles that classified as roots and with a strong preference for '70s idioms. They incorporate instrumental passages, sometimes in the improvisational jamming mode, but also as more structured passages. The songs are not short by any means, the vocals are sweet and comfortable, and their music can sound both novel and familiar at the same time.
