Fat White Family

Fat White Family is an indie rock band whose music has shifted stylistically over the years from its lo-fi roots with psychedelic tendencies and a loose, jagged, anything-goes approach into a much tighter ensemble that played with more discipline while also creating more spaces around them musically. The turning point came with their 2019 album Serfs Up, where the band emerged with sharper pop awareness leading to a much smoother sound. They have strong beats that tie into fat grooves with a rolling feel that they sit with, no hurries. They let their melodic hooks sink in as they slowly reel the audience in. The kernels of this approach can be seen in their previous albums in their rudimentary stages, but it is more pronounced now and comes with a broader scope.
