Deadmou5 is the stage name for Joel Zimmerman, a DJ, producer, and musician who is mostly an electronic and EDM artist. The core of his music is in the house style, sometimes accompanied by various vocalists singing or rapping on his tracks, though he tends to also produce music that strays from those boundaries. He has some ballads, with remixed versions for the dance floor. His 2018 album, where's the drop takes some of his EDM tracks, slows them down and plays them as acoustic and orchestral pieces that emphasize their lyrical and emotional weight. He performs with a big mouse mask with mouse ears, which is his signature look, though he is not synonymous, and he has been photographed without it.
