The Courettes

The Courettes are the guitar/drums duo Flavia and Martin Couri, a Brazilian and Danish couple, who are all in on spreading the joys of old school rock'n roll. Their music captures the sound of the '60s down to its beats, melodies, vocals, lyrics, all of it. Flavia Couri nails the retro guitar style, covering a range between rock'n roll and garage rock. She also lovingly recreates period vocals, spicing it up with appropriate amounts of nonsense syllables and spoken bits, as one does. Martin Couri, on the other hand, brings on the big fat drum sound, castanets, and an assortment of other percussive instruments. The result is a throwback fest for generations of fans who were not even around when this kind of music was rocking the world the first time around.
