Circa Survive

Circa Survive is a Philadelphia-based rock band that incorporates elements of prog rock, metal, and math rock to create a grand, expansive sound with dramatic layering. The band was formed by members that came from other post-hardcore bands. Their straight-up metal leanings were more visible in earlier recordings, but as time went by, they began to adopt more subtle textures and g drifted away from relatively simpler song structures. Outside of the spotlight that is somewhat locked on the singer Anthony Green, there is usually a lot of action taking place between the guitars, which the band has the kind of strong musicianship to pull off.
