Calliope Musicals

Calliope Musicals are an eccentric and energetic indie pop band with a strong theatrical presence (balloons! confetti!) led by singer Carrie Fussell. Stylistically, they tend to color more inside the lines in terms of their music. Their songs tend to be melodic and performed with an eye towards indie rock. Squint your eyes just enough, you can almost see traces of the early days of Sparks from the '80s. Except Calliope Musicals is much easier on the ears. They come across as a party band interested in having a good time and being a friendly guest at your home. Their songs are mostly uptempo, and they can alternate between sparkly pop, danceable tunes, and semi-psychedelic rock, every now and then. even breaking into acoustic folk numbers.
