Baths is the moniker used by the Los Angeles based electronic pop artist Will Wiesenfeld, whose music simultaneously displays perfectly locked in pop sensibilities and a curious mind that loves to tinker with rhythm and structure. His classical training comes to the surface with some regularity in his intricate vocal and melodic arrangements and especially in his piano interludes. Despite all his pop orientation, Baths' music often avoids the predictable route. Even when the beats and melodies are clear, it is not uncommon to see him throw the flow off with a little extra something to gently nudge the listener. Some of his music is dance-oriented (with the above proviso), playful, and light-hearted. Some of it, though, can go to dark places, as was the case in his 2013 album, Obsidian.
