Atómicos

The band  Atómicos is a surf rock band that hails from the landlocked town of Lethbridge, Alberta. Their intertwined guitar melodies, driving bass and pummeling drums recall classic instrumental rockers like The Ventures, though with a contemporary twist that is reminiscent of The Sadies. Their first record, Surfodelic (2017) set the tone for the band - reverb drenched amps driven by twangy guitars. The band goes deeper into that blueprint effectively on their 2023 follow-up album, Fins Up!, which finds them aligned more closely to the surf angle. Their songs tend to be instrumental in nature, fairly upbeat and dynamic, and retain their strongly playful attitude throughout.
