Astronomies

Astronomies are an Oslo based shoegaze band whose music adopts the defining features of the genre, especially in terms of their use of fiery guitar fuzz, low-key vocals, and the layer of haze that sits on top of everything. Their style is perhaps a tad more percussive, and they use distortion in more measured ways relative to where shoegaze generally sits, leaving some space for jangly guitar lines to weave in and out of their music. A good number of their songs running at a brisk 2 to 3 minute range, and they tend not to engage in a sprawling drone. There is an introspective quality to their work for sure, but they also play with an indie rock type clarity in their melodies, and tonally drift towards dream pop with some regularity.
