Allen Stone

Allen Stone is a singer-songwriter who was born to sing soul music, and sing it the way it was done back when it was the center of the pop universe and reigned supreme over radio stations. Armed with a voice that draws frequent comparisons to Stevie Wonder himself, he practices his art as close to its purest form one can at this point in time: with little attempt to cross over and not much inclination to blend genres. That said, he embraces modern production techniques in a way that gives his music a fresh feel rather than sounding like it was ripped directly from someone's old record collection. His instrumentation is sharp, and his arrangements are sparkly, so his packaging is as contemporary as it gets. Stylistically, however, Stone is laser focused on the classic elements of the genre, its boat loads of joy, its emotional uplift, its pride, as well as its occasional sorrow.
