99 Neighbors

99 Neighbors are a rap collective originally from Vermont, and currently comprised of about seven members altogether. The personalities that make up the group bring their own particular style to the table, which leads to a good variety in their music, sometimes even as members trade lines with one another during their songs. They started out relatively mellow as rappers and R&B singers with an interest in jazzy chords and some swing in their grooves. Their sound grew edgier on their second album, i.e., 2021's Wherever You're Going.... as their hip-hop got a couple of cranks harsher and their emotional content got rawer. That also meant that there is also a more mature sway to the way they deliver their R&B inspired melodies.
