070 Shake

070 Shake is the stage name for Danielle Balbuena, a singer/rapper from North Bergen, NJ, who uses synth effects, 808, and autotune combined with relatively bare instrumentation to create atmospheric electronic music that wraps around her hip-hop core. Her music generally walks the line between hip-hop and contemporary R&B. She sings in relaxed voice and in a highly emotive half-speaking style in her ballads. Her music likes to push boundaries in general, drawing from an array of styles that include trap beats, '90s trip-hop, and '80s synth pop textures at different times. She is also prone to sonic experimentation with electronics as well as stretching into different musical traditions such as Spanish and middle eastern flavors.
