Salvage Station
Outline
Salvage Station is a fairly large venue in Asheville, NC, on the banks of the French Broad River about a half mile from downtown. It has both indoor and outdoor stages and hosts a wide variety of artists but does seem to favor jam band and reggae acts. Available amenities vary depending on whether the show is indoors or outdoors and the expected crowd size, but there is a permanent kitchen for local Southern Soul Food purveyors Root Down and, for outdoor shows, there are typically multiple food trucks on site. The main building that hosts indoor shows has its own large bar, but there are 4-5 other bars available for outdoor shows, arrayed around the large stage. The clientele and staff are typically laid back and friendly. A great place to catch a show.
There is a large parking lot on site that may be free or paid depending on the show. Additional parking is available South of the venue, near the freeway on ramp on Riverside Drive. Do not park at businesses along the railroad tracks. Parking rules vary significantly depending on the show, so check the website for details for your show.
Outdoor shows are usually all ages while indoor shows usually have age restrictions. Check the details for your show on the website if age restrictions are a concern.
