Cheer Up Charlies

Cheer Up Charlies is a small, mostly outdoors venue on Red River street in Austin, next to Mohawk and across from Stubb's. It is an explicitly queer and vegan friendly venue that frequently hosts DJ-led dance events, as well as indie acts. It has a small, intimate indoors stage and a much larger, and fairly iconic, outdoors stage that stands underneath a giant pink tent and against a white rock cliff as its backdrop. The stage is loose and unassuming and places the audience right up close to the performer. The venue manages to regularly pack their whole day with a line-up some of top-notch performers, especially during SXSW.
