Catalina Bar & Grill

Catalina Bar & Grill is a major venue that has been operating for decades as a jazz club in Los Angeles.  It is also known as Catalina Jazz Club. They have been able to bring an impressive list of jazz greats over the years ... giants, to be more precise (Dizzie Gillespie is said to have been their first booking). They continue to attract some of the top-notch musicians on a regular basis, local or otherwise.  It is essentially a restaurant-bar with tables, tablecloths, proper dinner set, an actual menu, and a full bar. Most tables have a good view of the stage with its iconic red velvet curtain backdrop. It is located on an unassuming street corner close to Sunset and Highland that might be confused with a regular restaurant except that this one has a line outside before the opening hour. It is clearly one of the go-to places for jazz fans in the LA area.
