Tebi Rex

Tebi Rex is a Dublin based hip-hop duo that pairs smooth rapper Max Zanga with smooth crooner Matt O'Baoill.  Their interplay creates a back and forth between the two that adds some tension to their otherwise low-key and chilled flow. Their music straddles the line between hip-hip grooves and R&B style tunes for the most part with regular detours into the guitar-led rock-flavored bursts. They generally use streamlined instrumentation that keeps the focus on the vocals and the beats so that the music feels firmly anchored in the hip-hop world from that point of view. Their songs typically tackle anxieties of modern life and the state of the world (and Ireland). They have a reputation for being a highly engaging band live on stage.
