Austin based power trio Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol is not a goofy band no matter how playful their name may sound. They are a half metal/half hard rock type band that is raucous and abrasive, with an uncompromising attack. Their music may feel a little like stepping into a time warp stylistically in terms of its earthy quality. They play in a loose, grimy way that tacks closer to aggressive hard rock as opposed to the tightly regimented flow that much of mainstream metal seems to have an affinity for. In other words, they not only riff hard but they also groove. Guitarist Leo Lydon plays an 8 string guitar and sings at a higher register that recalls Perry Farrell (of Jane's Addiction) to an extent. It is powerful music especially who like their rock fast and loud.
