Margo Price is a singer/songwriter whose early work was very well aligned with the traditional country sound as practised by artists like Loretta Lynn. Her musical style has gone through some changes though: whereas her first album was scruffy, raw, and and drew mostly from her personal history, her second saw an expansion in scope, bringing in a broader array of influences, some rockabilly, a touch of countrified R&B grooves, a hint of Tex-Mex, etc, and occasionally taking on a social issue or two (singing about equal pay, for instance). By her third album, Price was a polished performer who had veered away from her traditional roots, with a lot of attention to the production value, working off of carefully constructed arrangements, and achieving a clean sound with songs that were infused with fair amounts of pop and rock.

She formed Buffalo Clover with her husband Jeremy Ivey. Later on, they formed Margo & the Pricetags, which also included Sturgill Simpson at some point. Her third album, "That's How Rumors Get Started" was co-produced by Sturgill Simpson.
