Kid Koala

Eric Yick Keung San, who works as Kid Koala, is a multi-instrumentalist, multi-faceted, multidisciplinary artist whose talent is in no way limited to the outstanding work he does as a scratch DJ and producer.  He also produces work for theater and film, creates graphic novels, and directs, then he writes and records the original score for that work. He remains open to multiple genres in his musical engagements, which includes classical, ambient, jazz, blues, pop, among others. A good chunk of what he records is original, and the ones that are based on samples, he typically mutates into something altogether new and different (see 2012's 12 bit Blues, for instance). He is a highly imaginative and quirky artist whose work overflows with ideas and embraces humor and a fundamental sense of humanity in his stories.
