Hepcat
Outline
Hepcat is a band that was originally formed in 1989, went on till 2000, then came back in 2003 and continued performing intermittently since then. There has not been any new recorded material produced b y the band since Push 'n Shove in 2000. They play reggae and ska the old-fashioned way, with traditional instruments, horns and sax, without any of the rockification that took place in the '80s and the '90s. They perform their songs with a distinctly Jamaican flair, where the calypso is never too far below the surface, and often that is exactly what the band ends playing. There is a good amount of doo-wop vocals and classic jazz arrangements around their music as well.
Bob Marley, The Wailers
