The Haden Triplets are the triplet daughters of the jazz legend, bassist Charlie Haden (see the Ornette Coleman Quarter), Petra, Tanya, and Rachel. The sisters each had their own musical career paths criss-crossing with a list of who's who in '80s and '90s rock/indie music scene, including one another. So when they got together as The Haden Triplets in 2014, they reached back to the traditional music of an America long gone, playing songs from old time greats like The Carter Family, Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, and so on, which they followed a few years later with an album inspired by songs written by their own grandfather, Carl Haden (a friend of the Carter Family back in the day, it turns out). What the triplets provide in their recordings is a deep love for classic country and western songs rendered in beautiful vocal harmonies.
