French the Kid

French the Kid is the hip-hop artist Harold Hill, who came to attention with his multilingual freestyle videos on Instagram in 2018, then began to built a career around his skills in rapping and building beats. He works mostly in the drill style, frequently mixing it with live instrumentation. Having grown up in Essex, UK and Toulouse, France, he is known for the ease with which he can switch between English and French, often midstream, and his ability to deliver naturally in both languages and fluidly navigate the contours of each. He regularly discusses some of his mental health issues openly in his songs. Every now and then, he also sings in snippets, typically with some autotune effects.
