Dusty Wright (Mark Petracca) is a singer-songwriter whose music is heavily tilted towards a highly earnest incarnation of the '60s style protest songs that are focused on social issues. He has been active in the music scene before he went solo in 1999, having played with various bands in the New York area and taken on various gigs including his turn as the editor-in-chief of the Creem magazine in 1992-93. He played a range of country-related genres in his early recordings, particularly the kind of folk rock/psychedelic hybrid that was made popular by bands like The Byrds in the late '60s. His later work moved towards a relatively more straightforward Americana style mixed in with some folk.
