Digawolf is the band led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Diga (aka Jesse James Gon), a native of Behchokǫ̀ in Northwestern Territories in Canada. His music combines a classic bluesy rock with a drone style and an expansive, ambient type folk. Blues was more central to his earlier work, going back to his initial album, Great Northern Man in 2015. By contrast, he was openly experimenting with sonic textures and moods through processed guitars in 2021's Ini, while also adopting his native Tłı̨chǫ language (Dogrib) in his vocals. He sings in a deep baritone that is roughly in the same range as the latter years of Leonard Cohen, with a similar crooning meets speak-singing style, and a touch of that gravelly, "seen things, done things" quality along the lines of, say, Tom Waits.
