CHVRCHES

Chvrches (or more accurately, CHVRCHΞS) are a synth pop and dance band with full electronic instrumentation. Various synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers are the main engine that drives their music. They produce big and loud dance floor numbers that can be seriously earwormy. The singer, Lauren Mayberry is a major factor in the band's ongoing success. She is clearly the focal point of Chvrches and acts as the organic wrapper around the band's synth-dominated sound with her slightly raspy, youthful voice and  converts the band's loud and bombastic dance grooves into a formidable force of pop that you know you've heard before many times perhaps without realizing that it was Chvrches.
