Wingtips

Wingtips are a Chicago based duo who works mostly in the darkwave style, balancing the darker moods they generate with relatively bright synth lines. Vincent Segretario is on guitar and primary vocals, hitting the right spot somewhere between Robert Smith (of The Cure) and Dave Gahan (of Depeche Mode), which is more or lass the stream where the band operates, while his counterweight is his partner Hannah Avalon on keyboards and electronic effects, who acts like the tether that makes sure their music does not drift away too far and is grounded on a dance floor feel. The combination helps them walk a fine line where, even when they take on a fairly sober tone, as they often did early on, they never quite adopt a full on gloomy sound.
