Six Organs of Admittance

Six Organs of Admittance is the moniker used by guitarist singer Ben Chasny, who has been putting together a remarkable body of work that does not fall neatrly into any single bucket. His music is often built on finger-plucked acoustic folk sound with traditional British and occasional psychedelic overtones. Then there is the drone driven, somewhat ambient stream that merges with it, as well as an experimental noise component that is never too far from the mix. Chasny has a way of braiding these strands into fascinating pieces that might, for instance, start in nice acoustic folk tones and conclude as such, or gradually mutate into a mesmerizing fuzzy sprawl. He is a prolific musician with top-shelf compositional skills and a mastery of the guitar that helps bring all kinds of nuance into his articulation.
