Say She She

Say She She is a trio of vocalists who embrace the classic '70s disco and soul sound, stretching across the two poles with a particular focus on a pulsing dance beat wrapped inside their remarkable vocal performances. Their initial album, 2022's Prism, leans more strongly into soul and draws from the vintage sounds of the era. The follow-up, Silver (2023), by contrast, is a love letter to the original disco artists such as Donna Summer and Chic, and the work of producer Nile Rodgers in the late '70s That retro feel is an essential ingredient of their act on both counts, and they present it with a lot of warmth that adds to their appeal. Their affinity towards analog production techniques may be another factor. Their songs are loaded with the kinds of hooks that would have been all over the pop radio stations back in the day.
