pollyfromthedirt is a masked singer-songwriter with a strong DIY esthetic whose lo-fi music pairs a low-key, mostly acoustic sound to a bedroom production type electronic frame. His songs feel direct and unfiltered, loose and casual, but also loaded with a creative spark that peeks through the layer of haze that lies on top. The recordings on his initial set of EPs, called The dirt collectively, come with a demo-like, unfinished quality that some of the early, pre-polished Beck was putting out before he blew up and became a pop phenomenon in the '90s. There is a similar kind of somewhat awkward gravitational pull to his work.
