Hot Chip

Hot Chip is a band that has consistently been pursuing dance-minded synth pop from their very beginning in 2005's slightly jittery Coming on Strong to all the way to their present work where they have fully incorporated house and disco elements into their music. They are a soulful bunch with all the know-how for putting together catchy tunes. They mix a slight melancholic edge into the memorable melodies and turn them into expertly constructed dance numbers. The band is led by Alexis Taylor and Joe Godard, who share the vocals and set the tone for the band. Members all tend to be multi-instrumentalists with everyone having their hands on some synth. When they bring the tempo down, they naturally shift towards a more subdued, club-oriented sound.
