Baby Rose

Baby Rose is the singer-songwriter Jasmine Rose Wilson whose R&B based music also blends elements of pop, jazz, and neo soul. She stands out as a singer with her deep, smoky voice that displays the kind of texture that instantly brings to mind some of the classic artists of the early to mid 20th century, drawing obvious comparisons with Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, among others. There is a similar spirit of maturity to her songs, something temperamentally vintage in its overall sound. That said, she is not a throwback artist at her core. The emotional thread that goes through her music is actually quite contemporary, and it creates a level of tension and ambiguity that further elevates her work.
