Arc De Soleil

Arc De Soleil is a project by multi-instrumentalist producer Daniel Kadawatha, who has been active since 2019, putting out music that is generally aligned with a suave funk sound while integrating slightly different pop elements at different times. His earlier EPs and singles cast a relatively wide net, touching on western movie and surf sounds as well as various forms of pop trends from the '70s and '80s. Later these influences crystallized into what can be considered more of an '80s pop jazz feel in Train of Liberation (2021) and Prince influences taking off in a disco direction in Casino Funk (2022). Another change came in 2025's Lumin Rain, where he brought in a psychedelic-adjacent, slinky sound that borrows elements from south and south-east Asian music in a way that brings to mind the music of Khruangbin and Glass Beams.
